My youngest daughter Tal is two years old and has had chronic constipation on and off for nearly a year. She used to be in so much pain every time, and her stools were hard and black. Her pediatrician prescribed her Miralax and I gave it to her on and off at least two to three times a week but it didn't help. In the past couple of months, my 4 year old daughter Mya, has had trouble falling alseep at a normal hour. She would lay in her bed for almost two hours in the dark and wouldn't be able to fall asleep.She also has always been the first one to wake up in the family even if she fell asleep really late and she would never nap during the day. Eventually it came to the point where Mya would only sleep 6-7 hours per night and at her age she definitely wasn't getting the 10 hour sleep that is recommended for her age. She would also get really cranky and groggy during the day due to lack of sleep. We tried everything, the bedtime routine, books, not allowing her to watch tv in the evening, giving her warm milk etc., to help her fall asleep better. Nothing helped. I took Mya to her pediatrician and he was concerned that she isn't growing enough and that the lack of sleep is causing her behavioral problems. He prescribed her Melatonin which is a hormone supplement that produces more of the sleep hormone in the brain. This supplement is regularly used by adults. I researched this supplement online and it seems as though only 15% of pediatricians prescribe this to young children since some of it's side affects can cause seizures. I was very alarmed by this fact and since Kira already successfully treated Tal, I decided to see if maybe the herbal way can help Mya too. After Kira asked me several questions about Mya and her medical history, she ordered her a herbal tincture, also in the form of drops, and told me to give it to her once a day an hour before bedtime. She told me that it would take a few days or weeks until it would work so I wasn't expecting a miracle overnight. I called her the next day to let her know that Mya slept almost 10 hours after the first dose!!
